The Kerry Wood Nature Centre has recently adopted two charming plains garter snakes, and we need your help to find them the perfect names. These new additions are more than just members of our creature care program; they are invaluable ambassadors in our mission to educate the public about these fascinating native creatures.
Plains garter snakes are found in Southern and Central Alberta and eat everything from insects, earthworms, and leeches to frogs and small fish. All garter snakes are harmless to people.
We invite you to participate in our naming poll and vote for your favorite pair of names. This is your chance to contribute to the story of our slithery friends. Simply follow the link below to cast your vote. Be quick, though—the winners will be announced on Tuesday, March 18 via our social media accounts.
March 18 Update: We're pleased to announce the winning names are Noodle and Soup!
We'd like to extend a heartfelt thank you to The Reptile Shop Red Deer (https://www.thereptileshop.ca/) for their generous support in helping us welcome these remarkable reptile representatives. Their commitment to supporting educational endeavors like ours makes a significant difference in our community.
