The Gaetz Lakes Sanctuary is one of the oldest protected spaces in Alberta. As the Province’s first Dominion Bird Sanctuary, set aside in 1924, the Sanctuary is 300 acres of forests, grasslands, and wetlands; a space where the needs of the plants, animals, and the natural system come first.
To celebrate The Sanctuary's 100th birthday in June 2024, we hosted a unique, adults-only, evening experience: Beers for Birds. Our guests had such a blast that many commented it should be an annual tradition—so we made it happen!
On Friday, June 20, 2025, bring your friends and flock to Beers for Birds: A Fundraiser Worth Crowing About! Local craft brewers and distillers will introduce guests to their product, handheld appetizers will be prepared and served by the talented local catering company Chickadee Epicurean, there will be live music and a silent auction, and an artist will create a live painting of the Sanctuary during the event—an exclusive piece to be included in the silent auction.
Ages 18 & up.
Tickets are $60/person.
This event runs rain or shine.
Parking is limited, please consider carpooling or alternative transportation.
